Moon was very important to Islam because this is one of the important sign and creation from their God (Allah).
Islam follows a purely lunar calendar. From the calendar Islam take note the most important month which is the ninth month because it is the start of Ramadan. Ramadan starts from this month and observing the first new moon. New moon lies between Earth and the Sun.
Generally following the Islamic Calendar and the New Moon makes the different schedule of the Ramadan so none Muslims not very familiar with the schedule. Note during Ramadan there are people who are excuse they are the soldiers, sick people and children. Ramadan takes about 30 days. The end of Ramadan was also celebrated by the Muslims. This is the day of their feast. It was called Id Al-Fitr. The end of Ramadan can be identified if the new moon appears.
