Conservation of Momentum in explosions


Dynamic Cart was used in observing the conservation of momentum. This devices was made by the PASCO company which is now affiliated in DLSU-Dasmarinas.
Note: Students main tasks on this activity is to demonstrate conservation of momentum for two carts pushing away from each other.

Before starting the activity the students were assembled the dynamic track for their activity each group have to assembled the track and checked if the level of inclination was okay.








This is another group of students who assembled their dynamic track. As you can see on this pictures every group participate actively in assembling their track.










In this picture the female student voluntereed to assemble the other part of the dynamic track. By the way students put the leveling foot of the dynamic track. The leveling foot was used to adjust the inclination of the track.



And now for the start this student carrying
the triple beam balance to assist their group in
measuring the dynamic track and its block.

On this part student starts to make some verification
on how the procedures will be done. Some
questions were cited afterwards.


After examinations of the procedures the students performed the activity. Students measured the block and the dynamic cart.











After weighing the blocks and the dynamic track students proceed to the activity proper.

The students make an alloctaion of the dynamic track position. (Meaning student choose the dynamic cart position)









Students performed the activity for case 1 to case 4. Every case have different senario. Students makes a through reading of the activity procedures.

Students were measuring the displacement of the two cart on this picture. As you can all of them were looking at the result of the collisions.











Students makes another set up for the next activity. The records of the activity were immediately recorded by their assigned record.









Students are still in the mood of enthusiam when performing the activity though the activity was time consuming they still enjoy the physics laboratory.









The final case was performed by this group and still with
the eye of eagerness to finished their tasks.


The final touch of the main task was the computation of the results. Students computed the delta X^1 over delta X^2 and also the m^2 over m^1.









Another group of students shows their cooperation on solving thier group results.









After the main task the other students ask me to have
thier final photo and here are them. Whalaa!
