Interrogators
Decoders are parts that read the data on the tags by first stimulating the tags with a signal then the tag is like awakened and sends back a low reply tuning into the wave of the reader thus transmitting the programmed information it contains. The distance that these tags can be examined is usually short and the data is limited.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a means of identifying an object or person using a radio frequency transmission. RFID is best understood as a ‘next generation bar code’ but this description only doe’s partial justice. Tags can carry information such as serial numbers, model numbers, color, and place of assembly or other types of data. Not a new technology. Recent advances, heightened security concerns & emphasis on cost controls have surfaced the technology. RFID has ignited the interest of firms that want to increase the accuracy & flexibility of production, logistics, & selling activities.
