Internship: A link for Hiring

Why do students need Internship?

Some of the students were asking the importance of internship in their feild of specialization. In this connection, I define and explain the importance of internship and also give tips for the employer and students.

Intern is sometimes called stagiaire. This means that the person or student is temporary working in position which is primarily an on-the-job training rather than merely employment. Sometimes it is also called apprenticeship. An interns main goal is to gain school credits and sometimes for network of contacts. Employer often takes advantage of internship because it is cheap or free labor for (typically) low-level tasks, and also the prospect of interns returning to the company after completing their education and requiring little or no training.

TIPS:

1. For Employer: internship is cheap and free labor for low-level tasks.
2. For employer: interns are prospect of returning to the company after completing their education and requiring little or no training.
3. For Internship: You may be either paid, unpaid or partially paid (in the form of a stipend)
4. For Internship: You may be part-time or full-time. Part-time during the university year and full-time during summer.
5. For Internship and Employer: Interns can be available from businesses, government departments, non-profit groups and organizations

Note: Interns are paid in medical, architecture science, engineering, law, business (especially accounting and finance), technology and advertising fields while unpaid internships are in a non-profit organization and volunteer positions.

Importance of Internship:
1. It will help you when you apply for a job.
2. It will lead you to your prospect company.
3. It will give you skills.
4. It will increase your network contacts.
5. This can lead you to another link company.
6. The employer can recommend you to affiliated companies.
